Contact: newbeginrealty@gmail.com (contact@legalapprentice.org planned)
Operator: Noah Newbegin, sole proprietor d/b/a Legal Apprentice
Effective Date: September 8, 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using legalapprentice.org (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Use (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
These Terms apply to visitors and to anyone who contacts Legal Apprentice by email or through Site forms. Separate written agreements may apply if you become an Apprentice or Mentor participant.
2. Site Purpose
Legal Apprentice is a for-profit facilitator that helps connect people interested in California Law Office Study (“LOS”) under Business and Professions Code §6060 and State Bar Rule 4.29 with qualifying supervising attorneys or judges (“Mentors”), and may offer optional Year-1 study aids.
The Site is informational and administrative. It is not a law school, not State Bar–approved, and does not practice law. Legal Apprentice does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or State Bar filing services.
3. No Legal Advice
Nothing on the Site—or in any email, checklist, orientation note, or study aid from Legal Apprentice—is legal advice. Content is general information only. You are responsible for your own State Bar eligibility, registration, LOS compliance, and Bar Exam path. Consult a California-licensed attorney for legal advice about your situation.
4. Accounts and Email Contact
The Site currently operates on a public email-only contact model. There may be no public self-serve account or shopping cart. If Legal Apprentice later offers login accounts, you must provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential, and notify us promptly of unauthorized use.
Billing, if any, occurs only after registration with Legal Apprentice and a match is made, under a separate Apprentice Membership / Services Agreement—not via a public cart on the Site.
Fees (MVP): Fees are disclosed before any Payment Trigger. Billing occurs only after registration with Legal Apprentice and a match is made. There is no public shopping cart on the Site.
Refunds (interim): Contact us within 14 days of the Payment Trigger for case-by-case review. This interim refund practice remains subject to counsel review and the separate Apprentice Membership / Services Agreement.
5. Intellectual Property
The Site, its branding (“Legal Apprentice”), text, graphics, and optional study aids are owned by Legal Apprentice or its licensors. You may view and use Site content for personal, non-commercial information about our services. You may not copy, scrape, republish, sell, or create derivative works from Site content or study aids except as expressly allowed in a written agreement with us.
“Apprentice” and “Mentor” as used on the Site are role labels for our facilitation service, not titles conferred by the State Bar.
6. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for unlawful purposes or to harass, defraud, or mislead others;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your eligibility, credentials, or relationship to the State Bar;
- Attempt to disrupt, probe, or overload the Site or related systems;
- Collect contact information of Mentors or Apprentices from the Site for bulk solicitation or resale;
- Upload malware or content you do not have rights to share.
We may refuse or stop communicating with anyone who violates these Terms.
7. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEGAL APPRENTICE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Legal Apprentice does not warrant that: (a) you will be matched with a Mentor; (b) any Mentor meets Rule 4.29 / §6060 requirements (the State Bar decides); (c) LOS credit, First-Year Law Students’ Examination (FYLSX), or Bar Exam outcomes will result; or (d) Site content is complete, current, or error-free.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEGAL APPRENTICE AND Noah Newbegin, sole proprietor d/b/a Legal Apprentice WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOST EDUCATIONAL / BAR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR INABILITY TO USE IT.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO LEGAL APPRENTICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (US $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the limitation applies to the fullest extent allowed.
9. Indemnification (Narrow)
You will indemnify and hold harmless Legal Apprentice and Noah Newbegin, sole proprietor d/b/a Legal Apprentice from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from: (a) your misuse of the Site; (b) your breach of these Terms; or (c) your violation of law or third-party rights in connection with Site use—excluding claims caused solely by Legal Apprentice’s willful misconduct.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive venue for disputes is San Diego County Superior Court (interim until counsel finalizes arbitration), and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
11. Changes
